there are still a few decent coffeshops in dam(or there were last time i was there), but they are off the beaten track
leiden is a 15 min train journey from centraal station, and has a brilliant natural history museum-had a good afternoon there, wobbling around

Your wrong dude,
The weed in amsterdam is awesome, U just need to know were to go, and if ya don't know, just ask for coffeeshop Dampkring, and you'll be fine ...

Like anything you buy in Amsterdam, any big city for that metter, its more expencive then in the rest of holland..

When your a proper stoner its not all about amsterdam, travel Holland. like others said, go to breda, utrecht, hilversum, zwolle, leeuwarden maastricht or whatever.. check out the rest of holland.. Whe got like 700 awesome coffeeshop's in little places you never heard of, spread around Holland, like a stoner roadtrip. 8)

cheers :)

stayed at wassenar last time we were there
10 mins from leiden on the bus, found a couple of cool coffeeshops there (they even had reward system, evey gram you bought you got a sticker, 10 stickers got you an free gram), and much cheaper than dam prices (not quite as much choice, but quality was good and that's what matters)

we stayed at duinrell holiday camp (for those in the uk we stayed on a "sun deal", collect tokens from paper, 9.50 each for 4 night stay, based on 4)
me and the wife went, cost us £70 for the caravan altogether (electricity, park passes etc) and we got return flights for £80 return (that's 40 each)
flying from liverpool with easyjet (never check a bag in, you'll save around 20-30 quid if you just take hand baggage)

duinrell is a caravan park with an amusement park attached, miles of beaches and sand dunes
lieden was a pretty cool city too
